FAQ
Common questions.
What kinds of documents can I submit?
PaperProof is for academic research manuscripts, scholarly reviews and research-based academic essays. It is not a general-purpose document review service. Materials outside that scope receive a clear notice instead of an academic review.
How much does PaperProof cost?
Start with a free report preview. Unlock one manuscript for $6, or choose 3 credits for $16 or 5 credits for $24. Credits never expire. Each unlocked manuscript includes all analyses, unlimited re-reviews of the same manuscript, every report round and full report PDF exports. There is no subscription.
Can I use unlimited re-reviews for a different paper?
Unlimited re-reviews cover the same manuscript as it develops. Changes to its analysis, results or wording can be part of a revision. A separate research paper needs a new review and its own manuscript credit.
Does my Single Review credit expire?
No. Your manuscript credits never expire. Use it when your manuscript is ready, with unlimited re-reviews of the same manuscript as you revise it.
What does one manuscript credit include?
One paid manuscript credit includes every analysis, unlimited re-reviews of the same manuscript, all report rounds and complete report exports. A different paper uses a new credit.
Can I change the review focus?
Yes. Re-run a review with new optional guidance while keeping the same manuscript. If you have edited your paper, upload the revised draft for a new manuscript version. Both are included after you unlock that manuscript.
What does the review assess?
Main concerns, research methods, evidence, interpretation and reporting. The report explains the basis for each assessment and suggests concrete revision steps. It does not predict a journal’s publication decision.
Will my manuscript be used to train AI models?
No. We do not use your manuscripts to train AI models. Your paper is provided for review, not model training.
Do you keep my paper or my reports?
Your original manuscript file is not retained after processing. Your account and review history are retained so you can return to your feedback. Reports may include manuscript excerpts that explain the findings.
Will PaperProof publish or submit my work?
No. Your research remains yours. PaperProof does not publish your manuscript, submit it to a journal or make it publicly searchable. You decide how to use the review.
What does reference checking verify?
PaperProof looks up your cited works and checks their bibliographic details. Each reference receives a clear status, helping you see which sources were found and which need a closer look.
How do I start?
Upload your academic manuscript as a PDF, DOCX, or LaTeX file. Add any areas you’d like the review to focus on, then start your review. You can also explore a sample report before uploading.
