Data we process
We process account details, profile fields, authentication and billing identifiers, manuscripts and bibliography files, review results, editor drafts and versions, support communications, and technical logs such as IP address, browser, timestamps, and security events. Payment card details are handled by the payment provider and are not stored by PaperProof.
How we use data
We use data to provide and secure reviews, editor and export features; authenticate users; process purchases; prevent abuse; troubleshoot failures; provide support; and meet legal obligations. Manuscript content is processed only for the requested service and operational security.
Service providers
We disclose only the data needed to hosting, storage, authentication, AI processing, email, monitoring, and payment providers acting for us. We may also disclose data when legally required or to protect users and the service. We do not sell personal data.
Retention
We retain account and transaction records while the account is active and as required for security, tax, dispute, and legal purposes. Manuscripts, generated reports, drafts, and versions are retained to provide the project until deleted under the applicable product controls or retention process. Backups expire on their normal rotation.
Security
We use access controls, encrypted transport, session and CSRF protections, audit records, and operational safeguards. No system can guarantee absolute security; contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
Your choices and rights
You may update profile data and manage billing through the product. Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability by contacting us. We may verify identity and retain data where law permits or requires.
International processing and children
Providers may process data in countries other than yours using legally required safeguards. PaperProof is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 or the higher minimum age required locally.
